Welcome To Police Training College, Moradabad

According to Notification No. 250(643)62 dated 15-02-1968, the Recruitment Training School in Moradabad was established on 16-02-1968 for the basic training of constables in the Uttar Pradesh Police force. The head of the institute held the rank of Commandant (Principal). According to Notification No. 8701/I-2-1200 (120) 77 dated 17-12-77, the Recruitment Training School was upgraded to Police Training College (II), Moradabad for the training of Sub-Inspectors. According to Notification No. 3804/8-10-12 (1)76 dated 22-11-1979, the head of the institute was elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

According to Notification No. 2724/छः-पु-से-2-512 (2)/91 dated 26-11-1992, the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police was further upgraded to the post of Inspector General of Police. Additionally, according to Notification No. 11052/13/2010-एआईएस-II-A dated 30-03-2010 from the Government of India, the post of Inspector General of Police was elevated to the post of Additional Director General of Police. This college is spread over an area of 56.059 acres.

The institute imparts basic training to newly recruited constables and sub-inspectors. In addition, in-service training courses and pre-promotional courses are also conducted. The basic training course aims to inculcate professionalism, discipline, physical fitness, and all-round personality development. Basic training is divided into two semesters, with training provided in outdoor and indoor activities.

During outdoor activities, skills such as mob control, drill and physical training, and handling of various types of weapons are taught. In indoor classes, knowledge of various laws, including the Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Evidence Act, local and special laws, community policing, criminology, administration and organization, technical and scientific aid in investigation, medical jurisprudence, disaster management, RT procedure, and basic computer science, is imparted.
